Inside CARE House: A Comfortable Place for Therapy
As a vital part of the healing journey, CARE House provides therapy services to children as young as four and their families, at no cost to them. Licensed therapists build long-term relationships with these families throughout their visits to CARE House.
The waiting area for therapy includes a play space, as well as books and toys to make sure siblings and clients enjoy their visit and pass the time while a sibling and/or parent visits with a therapist.
All of our therapists are certified in Trauma Play, which is why therapy offices are a place where talking and playing for kids is possible and encouraged. As one of our therapists puts it, “For many kids, play is their language,” it’s how they can be successful in therapy.
Cases are reviewed every 90 days to make sure progress is being made. Clients can stay with CARE House’s therapy program for as long as it takes to heal from trauma.
