Meet Sammy

Have you ever wondered how we help the children that come to CARE House every day? I'm sure many things go through your mind, things like we help children who have been abused and neglected, or that we work to prevent abuse from occurring. You may have even heard about child abuse that happened right in your community and wondered if that child might have to come to CARE House - a child like Sammy*.

Sammy is a sweet, gentle, sandy-haired, eight-year-old-boy who loves to play pirates outside with his friends and brothers. He lives in Oakland County, just like your kids, or kids you know. When Sammy's life turned upside-down, CARE House was there to help him, and his family, heal.

In the coming weeks, we'll follow Sammy's Story in several parts. Tune in each week to read along and learn more about the work we do each day to keep kids safe. Please consider making a gift at the link in our story and bio to support our programs for children who have been abused and neglected.

Thank you for knowing It Shouldn't Hurt to be a Child
