Welcome, Cortney!
CARE House is happy to introduce Cortney Carl as our Canine Advocate Coordinator! She comes to us with a wealth of experience, both with Canine Advocates and within the court system. We are grateful for this collaboration with Cortney and the St. Clair County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
About her new position, Cortney had this to say, "I have worked for the St. Clair County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for 10 years this November. Always in the Victim Rights Division. After two years of nagging my prosecutor, I finally wore him down and had me contact Dan so we could get our own canine advocate in St. Clair County. In August of 2018, we welcomed our first canine, Bruin, into the office. Bruin and I responded to Oxford, twice welcoming students back to the school and also responded to MSU. Earlier this year we retired Bruin and welcomed Carbon into the office. Being the canine handler, I handle primarily child victim and homicide cases but oversee three other advocates. On the personal side, I am married with two girls, a nine-year-old and a six-year-old who keep me busy being a dance mom and softball mom."
Welcome to CARE House and Canine Advocates, Cortney!
