Wear Blue Day 2025

April 9 is #WearBlueDay!

Why do we #WearBlue for #ChildAbusePreventionMonth? πŸ’™

In 1989, Bonnie Finney, a Virginia grandmother, tied a blue ribbon to her minivan's antenna as a way to honor her grandson, Michael Wayne "Bubba" Dickenson, who tragically died from abuse. Bonnie's actions inspired a movement, and the blue ribbon became a national symbol for child abuse awareness, with April being designated as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The blue ribbon continues to be the international symbol for child abuse awareness, and many people wear blue during April to show support for child abuse prevention.

Today, CARE House staff got together for our annual Wear Blue Day photo. We had so much fun, we decided to take two!
